My intention when developing the look and feel for this journal was to make it something one would come back to gladly because of it’s beauty and simplicity. Also, something that will always be gorgeous since this might be handed down to other family members for years to come. I am aware of the trends as that is part of my job; but I wanted to create something that was timeless with a touch of being modern. I hand-lettered the title and found art that was copyright free from the late 1800s. I also created the spirographs littered throughout the interior to contrast the complexity of the illustrations. The color palette is inspired by jewels that are elegant and timeless.
