SPIES, CODE BREAKERS, AND SECRET AGENTS

I really enjoyed directing the content for this topic. I had a few cover concepts that I pitched to the team and everyone really loved the radio transmitter concept. I took that and ran with it throughout the interior with creating morse code patterns. Just in case you don’t know (because I did not before working on this book) Spies needed tools to transmit, or send, information secretly. Morse code uses dots (short sounds) and dashes (longer sounds) to transmit a message. Spies used radio receivers, wireless sets, and transmitters to send secret messages. I decided to create a color palette for this book that was inspired by many WWII posters. Also, all the portraits were designed to look like they we apart of case files. Alessandra Santelli did a fabulous job with the cover and interior illustrations.
